There is a lot going right at Aston Villa. The people in place at the club are the right ones to continue to build upon the current progress. Any time anyone at the club speaks on their role and hope for the future, there are only remarks of positivity.

That is what makes the latest rumor the most unlikely of anything to find its way onto the internet. According to an exclusive from independent journalist Chris Antony, Tottenham Hotspur are going to ask about filling their currently vacant managerial role with the Villa gaffer.

Apparently, this latest rumor is picking up so much steam that Antony's post was also shared, highlighting how Oddschecker has now made the Spaniard the favorite to ultimately land the job at Spurs. Monchi’s Moolah showed that that was not the case whatsoever. Obviously, something like this can be dismissed out of hand.

The provided reason makes it that much easier to call out the erroneousness of this latest claim. The desire to manage in Champions League is being cited as the main reason as to why Emery is considering a potential offer in the first place, and presumably would be why he would then accept the position at Tottenham.

Forget that each year will have variance within the Premier League. Finishing high enough in the standings is far from a guarantee, regardless of which club. Clubs like Tottenham, to be generous, need to get their act together if they wish to succeed. They cannot solely rely on winning silverware in a different competition in order to qualify for Europe's top competition.

Emery would be facing a complete rebuild. Compared to Villa, this is a well-rounded squad. Even in the worst-case PSR scenarios, the remaining roster would be miles ahead of Tottenham. Anyone joining Tottenham for the sole purpose of Champions League will soon not need to have to worry about CL fixtures, as Spurs assuredly finish toward the bottom of the standings. Their even making the unseeded knockout phase playoffs is not a remote possibility.

Aston Villa fans do not have anything to fear

Stories will be leaked and reported for a number of reasons. In the case of the odds showing Emery being the favorite, if that ends up actually being reflected, those behind the scenes would simply be looking to capitalize on this latest rumor in the hopes that people will place a wager on the Villa boss joining Tottenham.

In reality, the Spaniard and this staff are in B6 for the long haul.
