Only if approached with the right deal should Aston Villa consider selling players

It will always be possible that an Aston Villa player wants to leave the club, so Villa will sell someone off, feeling that the timing is right. Avoiding the latest PSR concern does not equate to never selling to anyone again. There is a huge difference in how the summer operations are perceived, however, now versus when the financial aspects seemingly spelled a certain doom and gloom.

Now Villa supporters know that the extent to which the finances were being speculated on was greatly exaggerated. With this knowledge, fans can now look with a greater sense of optimism toward the immediate future.

As has been seen, names of players who are realistically unavailable will continue to serve the fascination of rumors and speculation. If and only if a club offers a reasonable offer, should Villa even consider moving forward.

By all means, if someone would like to offer a king's ransom for Emiliano Martínez or Youri Tielemans, of course Villa would have to at least consider the possibility. Only in such circumstances would it behoove Monchi and Unai Emery to even entertain the conversation any further.

Keeping most important aspects to forefront of Aston Villa

Villa is a club that is on the cusp of being able to truly be a top contender on a yearly basis in the Premier League and in Europe. While it is always nice to have money, regardless of how much is spent, chemistry and player fit are aspects that can never be bought, even with a steep price tag.

For Villa to continue to push toward the stated goals, they will need to act like the side that is determined to be an active player in the market. The time is past when others can simply look to Villa as a funnel to provide a boost in areas that their side is lacking.
