In terms of Aston Villa not needing to face Alexander Isak when they play Newcastle United on Saturday, Unai Emery's side has been on the receiving end of some fortune. Instead, Villa will now have to match up against Jacob Ramsey, as the midfielder will be in something that is not claret and blue.

In terms of looking and feeling odd, what can now accurately be described as Ramsey's return to Villa Park will lead to an odd sensation to see Ramsey playing against Villa.

There will, of course, be varying amounts of opinion as to the type of reception that Villa supporters will believe the midfielder should have. While he clearly was not happy with either or both the proposed salary or role in the club, Ramsey did make it to the first team as an academy member. During this current run of success, Ramsey did well during his time at the club.

An aspect that helps too is the fact that Villa was able to secure a good fee for him while now being able to move on into a different direction as a club. Objectively, this is something that more or less helps all parties involved.

Because of that, it is doubtful that there will be too many boos heard from the crowd at Villa Park on Saturday, though it will still look incredibly out of place.

What future could hold away from Aston Villa

It remains to be seen if this move will ultimately help Ramsey or not. He will have a chance to rewrite the narrative of his career as he pushes for a spot in the England lineup with the World Cup slated to take place next year.

If it does not work out and Ramsey finds himself ending up not being a regular starter for Newcastle, there will likely be an element of regret from Ramsey, seeing as Villa did give him an offer to stay, but he instead is choosing a different route for himself.
