It is hard to imagine how Aston Villa would be without Youri Tielemans. The midfielder has been more or less universally viewed as the best Villan this past season. Now, with the club continuing to secure players to long-term contracts, it appears that the Belgium international is the next in line to see his career extended in B6.

This comes, of course, after a summer that to this point has seen Villa able to successfully come to an agreement with the likes of Boubacar Kamara and Lucas Digne.

Although the same was unable to also be true for Jacob Ramsey, talks between Villa and Tielemans appear to be mostly positive to this point, and the lack of something being ultimately agreed to would come as something of a surprise.

As shared on X from Barış Kalkan, Tielemans' agent had some form of dialogue about the potential of joining Fenerbahçe. This is not something that should raise alarm bells. It is common in sports for agents to send out feelers and have discussions. Oftentimes, these are closer to being on the side of the hypothetical. It never hurts, after all, for someone to gauge potential interest and to inquire as to if the numbers are at least within the same range before serious negotiations are to begin.

Why Tielemans will stay at Aston Villa

The post that mentions this also discussed how the two sides between Villa and Tielemans are feeling exceptionally hopeful about soon being able to get a signature done.

While Villa losing Ramsey to Newcastle United feels odd, the amount of outpouring and anger would easily be tenfold in the event of Tielemans leaving Villa. It does not particularly make sense for the midfielder to look for a different side at this point in his career. The mutual desire to continue a good thing going at Villa will ensure the midfielder's stay in B6.
