There should not continue to be this notion regarding Aston Villa players that they can be sold to other clubs for a next-to-nothing fee. Granted, that is something of an exaggeration. When looking, however, at the value of any Villa player in question and then looking at the fees that others around Europe go for, it is not even remotely close.
Villa players are always undervalued and seen as a cheap opportunity for clubs to potentially make a high-quality addition through cheap means. This, of course, comes from a lack of respect and recognition for what Villa have achieved and where they actually are in the grand scheme of the Premier League.
Notice how anytime there is a player mentioned in rumors, being linked to other clubs, that the price is always significantly, shockingly low.
It is unknown what it would take in order for that perception to be changed. Even in the event of Villa winning multiple trophies, many would still view it as a fluke. If anything, that would make people look to the Villa players that much more, looking to help whichever other side in question to fill in a gap in the squad.
Why there is not a need for Aston Villa to panic
Most likely, Villa players will continue to be irrationally involved in any rumors that come to mind. Luckily for the club, Unai Emery and Monchi are the ones in charge at Villa. While everyone else is attempting to usher away the Villans to anywhere else, the decision-makers will continue to ensure that if and when a player has to leave, it will be for what the player is worth.
This is what allows for the club to continue to make the moves that are needed and seen as best to remain competitive. Even with the potential financial troubles, there does not need to be a reason for Villa to wholesale anyone.
