The Euro 2025 competition is in full swing, and Aston Villa Women's Chasity Grant made the Netherlands squad that is currently looking to progress from Group D. Placed with England, it will be a difficult undertaking for anyone to separate themselves from this collective of talented nations.

For the Dutch, their opening match in Switzerland was against Wales at Swissporarena in Luzern. The Welsh side provided a strong initial resistance that proved to be something of a challenge to break down. Ultimately, Holland found the first-half breakthrough in stoppage time and were able to see off a 3-0 victory to open their start to the tournament.

Grant entered the match during the 64th minute. By that point, the Netherlands had already secured their three-goal cushion. As can be seen on a weekly basis with Villa, the attacker immediately got involved and looked to add a fourth.

Her effort came from a well-timed run that found the Villa player in space, and she only just saw a right-footed shot go wide. It is this type of smart, dynamic play and impact that Villa fans have grown accustomed to seeing in B6 and nearly gave Grant a goal in the Netherlands' opening match of the competition.

From there she continued to be featured in the attack and nearly saw her efforts in part of the build-up result in a goal from

Lineth Beerensteyn's score was called off due to offsides but was still a spectacular effort.

Near-chances for Aston Villa Women's attacker

Then, during the dying embers of the game, an additional familiar sight to Villa fans took place. Grant found herself on the end of a counterattack. Her effort was thwarted by a last-ditch recovery run from a Welsh defender from an attack that began in the Netherlands' penalty box and quickly threatened the other goal in an instant.

For now, the scoresheet will elude the Villa attacker. If Saturday's game is any indication, Grant will be able to change that soon enough.
