Some transfer rumors are now claiming that Yann Bisseck is of heavy interest to Aston Villa. By all means, if Unai Emery and Monchi believe that the German defender can help the side, then it is likely to be a worthwhile endeavor. As is known, however, just because someone is a target does not mean by any stretch that a deal is even close to being finalized.
In the event that Villa is unable to find a way to get the negotiations over the finish line, that is completely and totally fine. As is, Emery will have a small embarrassment of riches at center-back.
The mainstay of Ezri Konsa is as reliable as they come in the Premier League. Tyrone Mings has already gone above and beyond in his dedication toward the badge and played through injury when the club truly needed it. His devotion or skill level cannot be questioned.
Young CB talent at Aston Villa already present
Pau Torres can step in, and particularly going forward and helping in the attack, Emery loves what he is getting from the Spanish defender. Lamare Bogarde is only 21 and has been away on loan for much of his time at the club so far. To this point he has not been used too much but has shown his ability as well, particularly when the unavailability of others forced the Dutchman to fill in.
Add that Yasin Özcan has joined the side and is also an emerging young talent, and it is hard to foresee a scenario in which Villa will have the need to even provide the squad with another CB, even if it is for depth purposes.
It is certainly a situation to monitor. On a lot of occasions, Monchi finds a way to get his guy. In the event that an agreement cannot be reached with Inter Milan for Bisseck, that is completely fine. Villa are already more than set at center-back.
