One of the bigger unknowns is what could have been if Aston Villa hadn't needed to sell Douglas Luiz. Similar to what the club is facing now, the pressure of PSR is leading to many unwanted conversations. Because of how much the Brazilian meant while he was in B6 and the recent remarks of his publicly sharing how much he missed Villa Park, there is the potential of seeing the midfielder in the claret and blue again.
According to Forza Juventus, Juve are looking to sell Douglas Luiz for around €25m. The key part of this is that they are looking to potentially negotiate a deal after the current, ongoing FIFA World Cup.
With the June 30 deadline approaching for the fiscal year, Villa are potentially still needing to make a big-time sale before the first of July hits.
Afterward, with a new financial year to make moves in, Villa could very well be in the market for players as they would be during any other period before the season. While the midfield has plenty of talent, and there wouldn't be a need or desire to move on from Youri Tielemans, Amadou Onana, or Boubacar Kamara, it would still be an option that is worth Villa exploring further.
For Tielemans in particular, the Belgium international is more than willing to play every match and go the full 90. Putting him in a position to not need to do so and allowing him to save his legs a little more judiciously could end up paying dividends.
Would be a welcomed Aston Villa reunion
It must be added as well that Diaz would most likely be more than willing, and he is versatile enough that he could also end up being lined up in a variety of positions and give Villa fans the flair that they had grown accustomed to seeing from him.
At this point, a reunion would still be unlikely. If it does end up happening, though, it is one that would instantly excite Villa supporters.
