While the value of John McGinn is apparently in question for some clubs, the meaning of the Scotland international to the club is incredibly high. Others may choose to see him as a lower-valued player, but for Villa, he brings a lot to the side beyond any potential price tag.
Often the skipper, always a warrior, McGinn is viewed as the most overall consequential player. This is a truth that goes beyond just his performances during the match.

Then add the way in which McGinn plays, and it would need to be a tremendously high fee from an approaching club for Villa to even consider accepting an offer for the midfielder.

McGinn simply makes plays through his work rate and effort that others do not by the nature of how he plays and his motor. In similar situations, others would take a moment to take a mental break in the action, but not McGinn.
