It has been a summer that has included several lies regarding Aston Villa and its players. One of the aspects that has also turned out to not be based in truth or reality is the nature of Villa not qualifying for Champions League.

A common belief was that the club would not be able to keep ahold of players and that several Villans would be on their way out in pursuit of CL.

As should now be clear by the nature of how the summer has unfolded, the way in which Villa have interacted with the players has made it so that the club has been able to reinforce the vision that is taking place in B6. It still has to be acknowledged that, for many players, playing in Champions League is the highest club motivation that there can be.

Certainly, the immediate goal will be for Villa to make CL and qualify for the competition through their play during the upcoming campaign. It is still notable that Villa have managed to extend as many contracts as they have this summer.

Continued building blocks at Aston Villa

Despite the claim that the lack of CL would prove to be too much for the club to overcome, Villa have instead shown the ability to withstand conventional wisdom. Their ability to maintain the current corps and continue to strive for club success with the players that have already been a part of the system speaks to the way in which the club conducts its business.

In an era that has a lack of loyalty and that will often see players, managers, and personnel leave for perceived bright spots elsewhere, Villa are showing that this does not need to be the case. This is an aspect in which the decision-makers at Villa deserve a tremendous amount of credit for what they are currently doing and how they are going about their business.
