The continued approach of Aston Villa remains to be clear. While other Premier League sides continue to look to add as many new players as possible, Villa continue to show their desire to invest in the players already at the club.
Part of this is in response to the limitations set by PSR and SCR. Especially with how UEFA has sanctioned Villa, there is an increased need to be more creative when it comes to the approach of building out the squad.
Lucas Digne and Tyrone Mings have recently seen their stay in B6 secured, with a similar update expected for John McGinn at any moment now. The latest player to receive an offer to extend his current deal is Jacob Ramsey.
Although the midfielder has received some notable interest from other clubs, it would be a further positive development for Villa to also secure the future of Ramsey at Villa long-term.
This past campaign saw the midfielder in something of a reduced role. He will, of course, want to see more time on the pitch. With the loan spells of Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio over, though, there is going to be more of a chance for Ramsey to crack the rotation.
A lifelong Villan, Ramsey is someone who means a lot to the club. While it is unlikely for anyone to stay at one side for too long, losing someone like Ramsey would not feel right.
Future to remain at Aston Villa
That being said, Ramsey is now left with a choice. Only 24, it would be entirely possible for him to want to explore a fresh scene for himself. He has also now experienced what it feels like in B6 when Villa is playing at a high level across multiple competitions.
Securing a spot as a regular starter and being a part of his childhood club that then ends up winning the ultimate triumph would mean a great deal more to Ramsey. Most likely, he will accept the new terms shortly.
