In many ways, the addition of Evann Guessand is the ideal type of signing. This is especially true after a summer from many Villa fans' perspective, in which the club has seen a number of players involved in discussions that allegedly had them leaving B6.

Guessand offers a degree of excitement for a young, promising attacker after how the transfer period has gone for Villa. Slated to arrive from Nice, the Ivory Coast international offers a lot of versatility and potential for the long term.

Whether on the right or in a more central area, Guessand brings a lot to the attack. Moving now from Ligue 1 to the Premier League, Guessand will now have to contend with the transition between the two leagues.

Having a lot of promise is one thing. Many players show the potential to contribute in a significant way for an EPL side. The approach of Guessand, though, is one that will end up serving him well.

While speaking with Villa TV, as shared on X, Guessand's intention and desire to join the club came from a place of wanting to get better. Knowing and having seen how Unai Emery has operated in Ligue 1 previously, the idea of improving under the Villa boss is one that intrigued Guessand and what ultimately led him to join Villa, rather than going to a different club that had offered to acquire his services, including one of the Saudi-based teams.

Good attributes from new Aston Villa player

Being able to bring someone in who enters the club with the focus of getting better and wanting to clean up some of the areas of weakness is something that can not be seen by many. Ego and the belief that one is basically already at the needed level can often be seen and take over in a player's mindset.

Hearing these comments from Guessand early on will greatly help the young forward as he embarks on his new journey at Villa.
