There is seemingly no end to the irresponsible nature in which the media reports that Aston Villa players will be leaving the club. It is now being shared that Jacob Ramsey is halfway to Nottingham Forest. Based on outlets, the midfielder is of great interest and seen as a target for the club.
It makes a lot of sense for anyone to look to add Ramsey. He is a promising player whose potential hasn't been fully reached yet. Already, however, the Villa player has shown his ability to contribute for a Premier League side.
This potential move isn't about the finances or fit or anything else of that nature. Villa keeping Ramsey is about showing loyalty to someone who is a Villan through and through.
Notice how the reports and social media posts continue to say that Forest has interest in Ramsey, but they fail to mention Villa also being a willing double for that exchange.
The club knows what they have with Ramsey is fairly unique in modern times. Anymore, a club will simply recycle the squad as it sees fit, replacing players who have been brought up through the academy without a second thought.
Actual potential of leaving Aston Villa
At some point, there is, of course, a chance that Ramsey will leave the club. To do so, it needs to either be something that he views as a significant step up for himself, or Villa need to receive an offer that vastly exceeds any potential asking price. Anyone will always have the potential to leave Villa, but it has to be under the right circumstances.
Ramsey leaving Villa for Forest is not a move that particularly makes sense for anyone other than Forest.
Although things can change at a moment's notice, expect this rumor to end up going about as far as all of the other speculations that had multiple Villa players leaving B6.
