It has been a difficult summer transfer window for Aston Villa. A consolation, though, that has emerged late on before the transfer deadline is that of the inclusion of Harvey Elliott.
As shared by nat on X, the latest Villa signing is genuinely enjoying the prospect of joining the club. This comes for him at a time when Liverpool are largely looking to move in a different direction in terms of their roster construction.
Now in B6, Elliott has a fresh start and a chance to see regular minutes on the pitch.
Elliott's own comments, however, go further than simply enjoying the prospect of playing more. To him, the way in which Unai Emery and the club have already embraced and accepted him stood out. Already feeling connected is something that excited the now-former Liverpool player to join Villa.
For an Emery side that has been beaten up through the opening Premier League fixtures, adding someone new to the side who is appreciative and grateful for the opportunity to help the current campaign efforts is something that is tremendously awesome for a fan base that has not had much to cheer about as of late.
Good addition for Aston Villa
Only 22, in many ways bringing on Elliott is the exact type of signing that Villa need at the moment. The club is largely based on players and personnel who have a chip on their shoulder and who have been viewed as outcasts at their prior stints.
With the rest of the season to play for, Elliott will have a great chance to join Villa and give the attack the needed element that has been missing. Yet to score a goal in the Premier League, when fans look back on the season months from now, the addition of Elliott could well prove to be a critical one that Villa got right.
