Thomas Tuchel is looking to continue to build off the latest England momentum. The October international break will have three Aston Villa players featured as a part of the manager's plans.
Ezri Konsa, Morgan Rogers, and Ollie Watkins have been called up by Tuchel.
England will first face Wales on Thursday, October 9, in an international friendly at Wembley Stadium. The Three Lions will then travel to Latvia on Tuesday, October 14, for a World Cup Qualifier.
At this point, England is firmly in the lead in Group K. They have 15 points and are seven points ahead of second-placed Albania.
Despite how the side has yet to lose a game under the new manager, the positive point differential of 13 points has yet to be enough to convince most supporters during Tuchel's new tenure. This is why it will be important for England to show that they can replicate the type of performance that was on display against Serbia.
While Konsa and Rogers have played larger roles for England to this point, Watkins has yet to see considerable time on the pitch.
That designation is firmly in the hands of Harry Kane at the moment. Although it would be unreasonable for the captain to be excluded from the lineup, Tuchel does not appear to be interested in finding a way to play Kane and Watkins at the same time.
Unknown fit of Aston Villa player
It remains to be seen what Watkins' role will be under the current circumstances. As the World Cup approaches, each international break appears to be more and more telling as to what Tuchel is thinking.
Watkins will almost assuredly be a part of the World Cup squad in 2026. Unless, however, Kane is unable to play due to injury, it remains completely unlikely as things stand now that the Aston Villa striker will be asked to play a significant role for England.
