It does not matter what the other side does today. Aston Villa needs to focus on their efforts. In a fitting way, Unai Emery is going with a strong starting XI against Manchester United. While other results need to go Villa's way, seeing how the Spaniard is going to enter Old Trafford, it's hard to imagine this side not making a legitimate run at the title if the season began now.

In goal, Emiliano Martínez will have Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Pau Torres, and Ian Maatsen in front of him. Particularly against a United side that can be porous, having Torres in the lineup should be able to quickly pay dividends.

Boubacar Kamara and Amadou Onana are going to be the midfield engine that should be able to maintain possession and prevent the opposition attack from formulating before getting too close to Martínez.

John McGinn, Marco Asensio, and Morgan Rogers form the players who are further up the pitch and should equally be able to create plenty of chances against what has been a poor side.

Up top, Ollie Watkins will look to add to his goal total and try to grab his first score against United during Premier League play.

Available substitutes for Aston Villa

If, for whatever reason, this lineup can't get it done, Emery will have Youri Tielemans, Donyell Malen, Leon Bailey, and Jacob Ramsey among the options on the bench available for the Villa boss.

Ross Barkley, Tyrone Mings, Andrés García, Lucas Digne, and Robin Olsen will also be part of the Matchday squad.

It will be the last day for AVFC for at least one of these players with the club. A win and a final sendoff would be the best, lasting sendoff for whoever ends up joining Olsen in no longer being a Villan next season.
