Europe has already been secured for Aston Villa. It is only a question of which competition now. Regardless of how the match against Manchester United unfolds or the action around the Premier League, it has been an incredible season.

There is a great chance of seeing Villa in CL again. Considering everything that the club has endured this season and the disadvantages that are artificially placed against AVFC, to call this latest stretch anything other than a success would be incorrect.

Now with the final match being set to take place at Old Trafford for Villa, there is a lot to appreciate about how 2024-2025 has unfolded.

Certainly there will be difficult decisions, and there is a strong likelihood of shocking or substantially significant moves being made. Losing someone like Emiliano Martínez or anyone else who has come to mean so much at Villa will tremendously impact the supporters. And that is only one example of many that can possibly happen over the upcoming summer transfer window.

For today, one last time, this group as is will take the pitch and compete in the claret and blue.

Unai Emery and this side have a chance to end the season on a high note. Even if everyone else above them also manages to win three points on the day, it would be one more step in the club-wide goal toward once and for all putting an end to the 'big six' claim in the sport.

Final outing for Aston Villa

With that in mind, being able to see who the Villa boss lines up and watching how the Villans compete is a privilege every time. The business side and results can be a frustrating part of being a fan. That comes with the emotional investment and planning the week's activities around AVFC.

In what will hopefully be an entertaining, exciting, attacking brand of play from Villa at Old Trafford, it will be the last competitive match that will need to carry over fans until the beginning of the next EPL campaign.
