It has happened again. Aston Villa news is constantly being taken out of context, and the wrong aspects are being overemphasized, resulting in their being the main focus and takeaway. In the case of Youri Tielemans, the Belgium international is currently on duty for the Red Devils' World Cup qualifiers.

During a press conference, Tielemans spoke on how much he is enjoying playing under Unai Emery and how he likes being a Villan. The midfielder also acknowledged the possibilities that are always present for all players around this time of year.

He noted, however, that an exit from Villa is not exactly on his mind at the moment. For him, the focus at this exact moment is on the Belgian team. After that, he will be focused on helping Villa prepare for the upcoming 2025-2026 campaign.

Naturally, this means that Tielemans is halfway out the door if the posts and columns written reacting to the midfielder's statements are to be believed. It truly was more of a nothing statement in regard to the transfer aspect than anything else.

Tielemans was simply stating that anything is always possible. He emphasized how much he likes being a player at Villa. The Belgium international then simply went on to say that a departure will always be something that can happen. It must be added that he specifically clarified that an exit is not something he is looking for, but of course, that part of his statement is being glossed over.

Continued false narratives make the headlines against Aston Villa

It is somewhat disheartening to see the discourse focused on how Tielemans now allegedly cannot wait to get away from Villa. The inclusion of this possibility of a departure should be treated as someone simply noticing how a lot can happen from a week-to-week basis in the Premier League.

As is, this is shaping up to be an excruciatingly long summer for Villa fans. Just once, it would be nice for the narratives to resemble what is actually possible and being discussed at the time.
