Aston Villa are in a position to win consecutive games. This may not have looked like a possibility early on in the campaign. With a game against Feyenoord set to take place, Unai Emery is making it clear that he is looking to continue the good form that was witnessed against Fulham.
In goal, Emiliano Martínez will start. Marco Bizot will be the reserve keeper. The back line will consist of Matty Cash, Ezri Konsa, Pau Torres, and Ian Maatsen. Boubacar Kamara and John McGinn will form the defensive midfield partnership.
Evann Guessand, Emiliano Buendía, and Morgan Rogers will play further up the pitch. Ollie Watkins will be the lone striker for the fixture.
There were some questions as to what the Villa boss would do in terms of his approach. This lineup should indicate that Emery is going to approach each match with the same importance. Although this should be expected from the Spaniard. Emery is not one to hold back or to take a drastically different approach depending on the competition.
Aston Villa players to key in on
This lineup, which features Watkins, will be of great interest. He is coming off a game in which he did manage to put one in the back of the net. Although this will need to continue once the Premier League resumes, Villa supporters would love nothing more than for the England international to score in the Europa League fixture.
Even though the Villa squad is limited in terms of injury and availability, this is clearly a side that can and should be able to pick up three points away from Villa Park.
Another key person to monitor will be Rogers. It has not necessarily been the start that he would have been hoping for. This does present him a chance, however, to begin to get his season back on track.
