Aston Villa striker John Duran is on the radar of Chelsea, according to journalist Nathan Gissing on X.

Aston Villa signed the Colombia international 12 months ago and he has since made 35 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with four goals.

It would be a surprise to see him leave Villa Park for Stamford Bridge, especially so early on in his career in the Midlands.

Duran, 20, was signed as a long-term option by Unai Emery and many feel the best is yet to come from him in the claret and blue.

Prior to his move to England, he spent a year at Chicago Fire in MLS and fired eight goals in 22 outings before they cashed in on him.

He started out at Envigado and broke into their first-team as a youngster before moving to America.

Duran has been mainly used off by the bench by Aston Villa so far this season and provides back-up to Ollie Watkins up top.

He fits the recent transfer policy of Chelsea due to the fact he is young, promising and has the potential to get better down the line. However, he is still raw and isn't proven in the Premier League yet.
