According to Matt Maher, the Express and Star, Aston Villa have rejected an offer from Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur for Jacob Ramsey.

It is understood that the offer was a player-plus-cash approach for Ramsey with Tottenham midfielder Givoani Lo Celso being the player involved as part of the deal. It is believed that Tottenham have offered £20 million plus Lo Celso in return for Villa's talented youngster.

However, Villa and Unai Emery have no interest in selling Ramsey this summer and now that the necessary funds have been raised to comply with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules there is no need to sell the player.

Jacob Ramsey endured a very difficult campaign last term on a personal level, despite Villa's incredible achievement in finishing in the top four and qualifying for next season's UEFA Champions League. The 23-year-old academy graduate managed just 16 appearances in the Premier League last season due to separate foot and toe injuries that kept him sidelined for several months.

The 2022/23 season saw Ramsey be a key part of the Villa side that qualfied for the UEFA Conference League and as a result was part of the discussion to be in England's Euro 2024 squad. Ramsey scored 6 goals and made 7 assists that season and his ball carrying ability was proving too hot to handle for most opposition sides.

Villa will hope to have Ramsey back to full fitness in pre-season so that he can once again become a crucial part of Unai Emery's team.
