Aston Villa have reportedly made an enquiry to sign Juventus' promising young defender, Dean Huijsen, ahead of the summer transfer window according to TuttoJuve (via Talk Villa). The 19-year-old centre-back, who has just concluded a successful loan stint at AS Roma and returned to Juventus, has piqued the interest of numerous elite clubs across Europe.

Dean Huijsen, born in Amsterdam and raised in Spain, began his football journey with Costa Unida CF and Málaga before joining Juventus in 2021. He quickly progressed through the youth system, making his professional debut for Juventus Next Gen in January 2023.

Huijsen's Serie A debut came in October 2023, and he further showcased his potential during a loan spell at AS Roma, where he made 14 league appearances, scored two goals, and provided one assist.

Aston Villa's interest in Huijsen aligns with their strategy to strengthen their defensive lineup. According to reports from Italy, Villa have made contact with Juventus regarding the young defender in the last few hours, but detailed negotiations are yet to commence. This enquiry comes as part of Villa's broader efforts to enhance their squad ahead of the new season, especially with the potential departure of Diego Carlos.

Juventus are open to selling Huijsen but have set a firm price tag of at least €30 million (£25 million) for the player. The club's willingness to consider offers for Huijsen is part of their broader strategy to balance their squad and finances. Despite his young age, Huijsen's performances have made him a valuable asset, and Juventus are keen to capitalise on the interest he has generated.

Aston Villa are not the only club interested in Huijsen. Newcastle United, Paris Saint-Germain, and several Bundesliga clubs are also monitoring his situation. Newcastle United, in particular, have expressed a strong interest and are reportedly ready to make a substantial £25 million bid for the defender.

Villa's recent business dealings with Juventus could play a crucial role in their pursuit of Huijsen. The Villans have maintained excellent ties with the Turin club, having sold Douglas Luiz and signed both Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea this summer. This positive relationship could facilitate negotiations and increase Villa's chances of securing Huijsen's signature.

Securing Huijsen would be a significant coup for Aston Villa, providing them with a young, talented defender who has already shown his capabilities in top-flight football. At 6ft 4in, Huijsen is a commanding figure in the backline and possesses the quality in possession to contribute effectively in both defensive and offensive phases of the game.

His addition would strengthen Villa's defensive options and align with their strategy of targeting young players who can develop under Unai Emery and become key members of the squad moving forward.

As the competition for Huijsen's signature heats up, Aston Villa will need to act swiftly and decisively to secure the promising defender. The club's proactive approach and strategic planning could play a crucial role in convincing Huijsen to choose Villa Park as his next destination.
