Aston Villa are being linked with a swoop for Roma striker Paul Dybala, as per a report by Siamo La Roma.

Unai Emery's side have been credited with an interest in the attacker ahead of the summer along with Bundesliga title hopefuls Bayer Leverkusen.

Dybala, 30, is facing an uncertain future at Roma ahead of the next transfer window and could move on for a change of scene.

Aston Villa could see him as someone to bolster their attacking department and provide more cover and competition up top for key man Ollie Watkins.

The Argentina international, who helped his country win the World Cup in Qatar back in 2022, has scored 32 goals in 66 matches for his currnet club in all competitions to date.

He made his name at Palermo before he was snapped up by Juventus as a youngster.

The attacker then went on to play 293 games altogether for his previous club and found the net on 115 occasions before heading out the exit door a couple of years ago.

Dybala has never played in England and it remains to be seen whether playing in the Premier League would appeal to him.

It would certainly raise a few eyebrows if Aston Villa were able to snap him up later this year.

Emery's men are currently sat in 4th place in the table after their 1-1 draw away at West Ham last time out. They have their sights set on reaching the Champions League and that would boost their chances of landing big name players.
