Aston Villa dealt fresh injury blow as defender sustains blow on international duty

Aston Villa full-back Matty Cash went off with a hamstring injury for Poland on Thursday night after just 11 minutes.
The former Nottingham Forest man has picked up a fresh setback on international duty.
Poland went on to beat Estonia 5-1 in their European Championship qualifiers clash to set up a play-off final against Wales.
Cash, 26, will now have to be assessed by Aston Villa after being subsituted late on.
The wing-back qualifies for the Poland national team through his mother and he has made 15 caps to date. He went to the World Cup back in 2022 in Qatar.
He made the move to Villa Park in 2020 and has since become a key player for the Midlands outfit.
Cash has played 136 matches for them to date, 40 of which have come this season, and he has found the net on eight occasions.
He rose up through the academy ranks at Nottingham Forest and played 141 matches for the Reds after breaking into their first-team as a youngster. The Berkshire-born also had a loan spell away from the City Ground at Dagenham and Redbridge earlier in his career in League Two to get some experience under his belt.
Cash is due to return to Aston Villa next week ahead of their return to league action but will now be checked by Unai Emery.
Next up is a home clash against rivals Wolves as they look to cement their place in the top four. They drew 1-1 at West Ham last time out.
