With the start of the season slated for tomorrow, Aston Villa received some promising news from one of its key players. Morgan Rogers had picked up an injury during the preseason and was forced to sit out for some time. At the point when this update was shared, however, it was made clear that this was out of precaution. It was not believed to be a serious, long-term setback.
The Athletic's Jacob Tanswell shared on X that Rogers is going to be able to play in the opening fixture against Newcastle United. While this was largely believed to be the case anyway, it is still good to hear that the midfielder will be able to suit up against the Magpies and continue to do so for the foreseeable future.
This is a Villa attack that has a lot of potential. It realistically should be considered among the best in the whole of the Premier League. Although Villa could do well without Rogers for a bit, being without the England international for too long would have a significant impact on Unai Emery's men.

Other injury-related news from Tanswell included an update confirming that Andrés García and Ross Barkley will not be fit for the opening match. Then, too, Emiliano Martínez will, of course, not be able to play due to the red card from the prior season.
All in all, though, Villa are mostly healthy and will be able to show much of what they will look like as the campaign kicks off once again for Emery's side.
Being able to see the squad with most players healthy is a good start. There will be injuries that happen throughout the season. Being able, though, to start with a mostly clean slate gives Villa supporters a chance to see what the team is going to be able to provide on a weekly basis.
