Monchi will not leave Aston Villa for Fenerbahçe

It isn't enough for every Aston Villa player to apparently be available for the world to select. President of football operations Monchi is also apparently up for discussion. The Villa executive has continued to make a name for himself in finding ways to add to Unai Emery's squad. It is possible that this is so much the case that he has created serious outside interest.

According to reporter Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, as shared by Fener Ajans on X, Fenerbahçe president Ali Koç approached and had a discussion with Monchi to bring him to the Türkiye-based side. The post indicates that a dialogue was had but that the Spaniard made a demand of €2 million to consider a move.

There will always be a chance of anyone being lured away from any club. If that amount is his going asking rate and a club is willing to meet it, then the Spanish executive will be faced with something of a decision to make.

It still seems unlikely that a serious discussion was had regarding this, and there would have to be much more of an appealing offer, even beyond money, that would ultimately lead to his departure from Villa.

For one, he has a great relationship with Emery and Damian Vidagany. Being in a good working environment and building something with people that has already shown significant results for one's effort is something that most people would not simply leave for the sake of it.

Monchi's place at Aston Villa is secure

By all accounts, there is not enough of a push factor from Villa whatsoever in order for Monchi to seriously contemplate a change in scenery. While Fenerbahçe is a storied side in its own right and does well in the Süper Lig, there just is not enough for him to make that switch from the Premier League.

Even if the report is to be believed that Monchi gave a number, he will be remaining. Based on the post that shared the amount the Villa executive was asking for, it also mentioned that it was dismissed. At least for the time being, Monchi will stay in B6.
