The new signings of Yasin Özcan and Zépiqueno Redmond are officially a part of Aston Villa. With their introduction to the club comes a lot of excitement. These are younger players that have a lot of potential and promise.
Both turned 19 this year. There is a high degree of upward trajectory to look forward to with the Villa newcomers. Probably the most decisive aspect in all of this is that they will now be under the guidance of Unai Emery.
At Villa, Özcan and Redmond will see a greater level of individual care and attention as they begin their journey in the Premier League. The exact nature of their role right away is unknown at this time. Perhaps part of that will be seen during the upcoming preseason friendlies this July.
Even if the pair do not feature as prominently this upcoming season, this is the type of move that will undoubtedly end up benefitting Villa. Both have already shown why they are deserving of this chance to play in the EPL as teenagers. While others have elected to go to the likes of Manchester City and elsewhere, at Villa, they will genuinely have the best chance of making the matchday squad and seeing action during league play.
Big change of scenery for latest Aston Villa players
What to expect from the two new signings will need to vary from this point onward. Özcan is a defender, and Redmond is an attacker. The pace of opposing forwards and added physicality can be a lot for newly introduced backline members. For those further up the pitch, there is less that a striker can get away with compared to other leagues.
There will be an adjustment period for both. Even if things do not look great early on, expect to see Villa remain patient and for each of the club's new signings to eventually make their mark.
