Jack Grealish departure from Aston Villa should come as a warning for all players

In one sense it can be difficult to blame a player for seeking out something that seemingly benefits them. Take the case of former Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish. He left the club and joined forces with Pep Guardiola and Manchester City.

As can be seen, now Grealish is starving for minutes, and he is one of the first players expected to be axed from that squad this summer. The expression of the grass not always being greener comes to mind when looking at this situation play out in real time.

It is unknown what Grealish would have achieved had he stayed at Villa. At the time, he ultimately decided that moving on from Man City was the move that was needed for him.
Right now, his current club is looking to get rid of him, and there is not a particularly long list of suitors to add his services as things stand, with the summer transfer window of 2025 starting to heat up.

Door likely shut on potential Aston Villa reunion

Although a lot of AVFC supporters would be very much open to Grealish returning. It is not something that too many would see as a priority. From the club's perspective, it makes more sense to stay away from a chapter that has already been moved on from.

Paul Gascoigne spoke in an exclusive with esportsinsider.com. The former England international believes it to be a good option for the player to consider returning to Villa, particularly with the renewed form that was seen by Marcus Rashford under Unai Emery.

Again, it is impossible to say or fully assess what is being offered to players or what is going through their heads in such decisions. It is safe to assume, however, that if Grealish had to do it over again, he'd likely stay in B6.
