Saudi clubs are seemingly interested in all players throughout the Premier League. As they should be. Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez has been in the headlines as someone with a potential high-value offer.

Every day, like a turning carousel, there is an apparent new interest in one of the top EPL players. While it is possible that these interests will manifest into an actual move. They are, for the most part, overblown in terms of immediate relevance.

It makes all of the sense in the world for the likes of Al-Ahli and Al-Ittihad to send out feelers and gauge the possibility of a transfer. Their willingness to go to great lengths in order for their domestic league and notoriety to grow is something that others simply can't afford to match.

That does not make it destiny every time a notable Prem player is linked to a potential club.

Every year this can predictably be expected. Certainly, every player is up for sale. Everyone in the transfer market has a price tag. There is, consequently, a number that would be too high for anyone on the operation's side of a club to ignore.

It should not be assumed that the wholesale selloffs are going to happen to the highest bidder each year.

Even with PSR and Villa missing out on Champions League in particular, the need is not so dire that there is going to be a 'For Sale' sign on the starting XI roster any time soon.

AVFC is going to remain ambitious as it has been under the current leadership. While now playing in Europa League will tighten the constraints, it simply means that the club will be forced to be more efficient in their approach.

Not time for Aston Villa to panic or overreact

That does not mean that every player that others reportedly have interest in will or even should be considered to leave B6. What Villa is building is genuine and special. Those dismissing the progress that has been made and looking to cut the legs for Villa are being too dismissive of the process that is going on at AVFC.

Playing at Villa with Unai Emery has a certain level of appeal that other clubs do not possess. This becomes that much more true when opposing players experience the Villa Park atmosphere. Players want to join the Villans.
