There is something of an ongoing case study occurring. Players leave Manchester United, only to see the multitude of issues that have plagued them instantly vanish. Aston Villa recently experienced this with Marcus Rashford.

Now Alejandro Garnacho too appears available for clubs to acquire and add to their squads. As long as Unai Emery is in charge, a lot of the initial concerns that have come with the Argentine to this point are simply not present. Perhaps further into an eventual stay at Villa, Garnacho would wear out his welcome.

As the cases of Rashford and other former Man Utd players should show, however, they all deserve a clean slate when switching clubs and have earned the right to not carry the preconceived notions from his days at his previous stop.

Emery has the respect of the dressing room. His results speak for themselves, and how he handles his business allows him to have a strong presence that ultimately does not allow for issues to boil over for too long at AVFC.

Certainly there were moments when players were subbed out and expressed their frustrations, with Ollie Watkins' comments being the most famous of such instances. That is going to happen everywhere. In terms of moving on and keeping all energy focused on the team-oriented goals, Emery has Villa well-positioned to always be able to ignore any potential negativity like that.

Would be a good attacking option for Aston VIlla

So when it comes to Garnacho, he is a talented player who believes in his abilities. Coming to Villa, he will also have to recognize that this is a deep roster at every position. Playing each match and then seeing 90 minutes of action when selected is not a realistic expectation.

In terms of how he'd fit, Garnacho is someone who, when playing with confidence, takes defenders on and positions his team in goal-scoring opportunities. The Argentina international can offer a lot to any attack that simply can't be coached. It will be worth it for AVFC to at least explore the option.
