A lot can often be made of something that should not amount to much of anything. Alejandro Garnacho was seen wearing an Aston Villa No. 9 jersey of Marcus Rashford. The range of reactions, particularly from the Manchester United fans, served as an excellent source of weekend entertainment.
In reality, Garnacho at most was simply showing his support for his friend and teammate. It is also entirely plausible that the Argentina international was wearing something without too much thought at the time until someone pointed it out, and that he then decided to show Rashford what he had decided to wear on the way.
Some are interpreting Garnacho's outfit choice of the day to be some sort of sign that he wants to follow in the footsteps. Assuming that this even is the case, the United fan base would not have any right to be upset.
It is the club that has given up on Garnacho. His potential desire and signal of wanting to join Unai Emery at Villa would be more than understandable.
Players talk with each other, and everyone sees all aspects that are taking place throughout the Premier League. Many are seeing and acknowledging how enjoyable it is to play at a club that is buttoned up in its business and that has Emery in charge.
Possibility of Garnacho coming to Aston Villa remains
Rashford has seen an uptick in his performance. It is only natural for Garnacho to now want the same for himself. Then add the level of support and incredible atmosphere at Villa Park, and it becomes rather obvious that players like Garnacho who have been cast out from their clubs would want to and enjoy the thought of joining Villa.
Most likely, fans are reading far too much into Garnacho's wearing of his friend's jersey. In the event of it actually being a subliminal message, it is United that forced the winger to look elsewhere. He very well could end up having a claret and blue jersey of his own before too long.
