Players tend to be understanding when a club has to make a move due to business. In the case of Aston Villa, those currently on the side see what may be needed regarding PSR. All things being equal, it is fair to suggest that many past and future sales would not have been initiated by Villa if it weren't for PSR.

While that does not necessarily come as a consolation for the player or his family, it is known that at any point, a club can simply elect to move on or agree to terms with another side that is making an offer.

The added PSR element makes it so that these conversations have to now happen more regularly, but in some instances, they will take place with the knowledge that the new regulation is where the potential move stems from.

For Leon Bailey, the winger has been an excellent player under Unai Emery. This past season did not go the way he would have liked by any means. A lot of that can be explained by his injuries. This prevented him from being able to have a steady run of time in training and then, consequently, in the matches themselves.

Even in spot duty, however, the Jamaica international showed glimpses of the 2024-2025 season that many Villa supporters will fondly remember.

It is known that a Saudi League side will always be in the market for a Premier League player. Particularly for an attacking player who can offer the needed presence and skill level in the advanced positions, bringing Bailey from the EPL would be a highly intriguing option for some in that league.

Possibility of remaining at Aston Villa remains

While Villa may yet find a way to more or less stay intact, even beyond June 30, there will not be too many that would be surprised by an eventual move for Bailey from the Premier League to the Saudi League.

If, however, Bailey is able to stay, he should be given a clean slate. Recently performing for Jamaica in the Gold Cup, the winger is looking fully fit and ready to contribute at the needed level that Villa fans have seen before and know he is capable of.
