All things considered, the news could have been much worse for Aston Villa's Boubacar Kamara. As reported by The Athletic's Jacob Tanswell, the midfielder will be forced to be sidelined for the next two weeks at a minimum, and it could be up to three weeks. The France international went down early during the first half of the Brentford match and had to be substituted fairly shortly into the match.

To hear that the expected timetable for Kamara's ability to return is less than a month, though, is excellent news. Hamstring injuries can be tricky, but the fact that it is a fairly optimistic outlook for the midfielder shows that the worst has been avoided.

The way the Villa roster is constructed makes it so that the side should be able to manage for the next few matches without Kamara as Unai Emery's men look to gain their first win of the campaign.

Potential contingency plan for Aston Villa

It is safe to assume that Youri Tielemans and Amadou Onana will find themselves in the middle of the pitch for the foreseeable future. With Ross Barkley still sidelined as well, it could conceivably be John McGinn who ends up playing in a more central area to cover for the absence of Kamara. Emery has shown the desire to play the captain in a wide area, but for now having McGinn playing as a central midfielder or attacking midfielder could be the solution until Kamara gets back.

It is certainly a significant blow for the squad. Emery being able to turn to Kamara, Tielemans, and Onana at any time is a luxury that other Premier League teams wish they could also enjoy. For now, this Villa side has the right pieces to be able to ensure that there is not a drop in quality while looking to get a better result in the EPL.
