Those applying logic to the Aston Villa PSR situation knew that the claims toward the club were always vastly overstated. With the June 30 activity past, there was not a single player sold, let alone one of the typical starters such as Morgan Rogers or Emiliano Martínez.

Instead, Villa have gone the route of selling a share of the Aston Villa Women to investors. As reported by The Telegraph, the amount is estimated to be around 10% of the women's team stake, and the total is valued at around £55 million.

The article mentioned that because the exact terms are not being finalized but the deal has been agreed to 'in principle,' it will be enough for it to still count toward the 2024-2025 calculations and avoid being in violation of the PSR guidelines.

The remaining percentages of the team are expected to be sold to V Sports, which is also owned by Nassef Sawiris.

Part of the next stages will also include the selling of 'The Warehouse,' which also serves as a music venue on non-match days. That too is expected to be around the range of a £55 million agreement.

For now, these maneuvers will allow Villa to comfortably continue and approach the second half of the transfer window without too much worry.

What this allows is for club operations to continue as is and for Villa to remain competitive in its roster construction. In theory, one would think that that would be the sort of thing that the entities would want to see more of. In reality, it is known how many were hoping for the worst-case scenarios to be true in order to see players from Villa purged.

SCR, which is enforced through UEFA, will be the next hurdle to overcome. In all likelihood, so long as Villa does show a plan in order to lessen the wages-to-revenue ratio, then a fine would likely be the most serious result of that.
