Whether it's up top or on the right wing, Aston Villa Women's attacker Chasity Grant is constantly causing issues for the opposing backline. Grant played a massive part in the final stretch of the season that saw Villa end on a five-match winning streak.
Before returning for the Villa preseason, Grant will first have a busy summer helping the Netherlands during the Euro 2025 tournament that is being hosted by Switzerland. The Villa attacker was officially named to the Oranje side on Saturday, as announced by the team's X page.
They will have a warm-up game against Finland on June 26 at Cambuur Stadion in Leeuwarden, Netherlands.
From there, the Dutch will play in Group D. They have been placed with Wales, France, and England. Considering the teams in this bunch, it would not surprise anyone to see this end up being the most competitive and most difficult group to emerge from.
Still, anything can happen in the tournament environment. The focus of Grant will be to stay ready and make the most of all opportunities that she receives on the pitch. To be training and preparing for the upcoming Euro competition is a great chance for the Villa attacker to further enhance her skill set and be part of a competitive environment over the summer months.
Springboard for Aston Villa Women's season
Oftentimes, these types of opportunities can allow the player to increase their readiness for the club season once that time of year comes around again. Grant in particular did well during the Villa winning streak.
Being in the Dutch camp allows her to maintain her current form and be better positioned to continue that level of play for Villa for Natalia Arroyo's first full year as the manager. Grant had three goals and two assists from the second Liverpool match onward. Villa fans will hope to see that from the attacker in Switzerland and that it will then further carry over into the 2025-2026 campaign.
