The apprehension of so many Aston Villa players reportedly being on the verge of leaving the club can understandably worry many supporters. For those following the summer events as they unfold, it can become somewhat exhausting and disenchanting.

Despite all of the columns and rumors that suggested everything but Villa Park itself would soon be leaving B6, as July is approaching, there has not been anything of consequence that can be verified that has actually occurred as of yet.

This should simply show how willing journalists and the media at large are to stir the pot and use Villa as a punching bag. During the summer months, the lack of tangible content and nature of the transfer business seemingly invite a level of speculation that does not need to stand up to anything resembling scrutiny.

Being charitable, the late June and early July months can leave something of a void. Despite the best efforts of the FIFA Club World Cup, there is not nearly enough genuine interest in that product compared to guessing where players could potentially land for the upcoming season. To do so to a degree would be well within bounds. Doing so, however, from a spot that simply looks to grab players from an otherwise thriving side without any form of equitable compensation is not.

In terms of the worst-case interpretation of Villa players constantly being in the headlines, others are disregarding Villa as a serious club. Despite the uptick in results over the past seasons, many believe that the fall will inevitably come.

Looking past the noise for Aston Villa

This mentality is showcased in how cavalier most are in regard to those currently on the Villa roster. To an extent, it is a type of game. Seeing which players can be poached away from Unai Emery's selection allows for an upgrade to take place elsewhere. When then looking at the types of bargain deals that many are seeking out for those in question, of course, it would be a great deal of business for the other side.

Even through the disrespect and overlooking from others, it cannot be forgotten how good a place Villa is in right now. There will always be a chance of a player leaving that most supporters would hate to see go. Overall, the nucleus that is at the club is a tremendous one, and there are a lot more reasons to be optimistic when looking past the overemphasized transfer rumors and PSR concerns.
