When looking at Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey linked to West Ham United, this is at least one of the more realistic proposals that have been seen this summer.

Playing devil's advocate, Ramsey joining the Hammers would provide him the opportunity to remain in the Premier League and be featured on a regular basis for an EPL side.

That being said, setting aside the fact that Villa would need to receive an appropriate offer that matches the value of Ramsey, it is doubtful that, other than something significant, Villa would even consider allowing the midfielder to leave B6.

For the player, Villa is his home. Staying with the club and making the needed breakthrough to ultimately be called up for England for next year's World Cup makes it so that the situation could become a little more complicated.

Everyone wants to play and be on the pitch. Then, anyone who is not in the starting XI for more or less each match will want to see their time on the field increase. This is what could make it so that Ramsey would want to look for a different opportunity. By the same token, Ramsey will believe in himself and will be willing to bet on his own abilities.

Possible current thoughts of Aston Villa midfielder

If given a dosage of truth serum, Ramsey would likely insist that he can remain at Villa and prove that he deserves a regular starting spot, good enough to garner the coveted England selection from Thomas Tuchel.

Again, there is always the chance of anyone, including Ramsey, leaving Villa. More likely than not, this too will be added to the scrapbook of failed rumors involving the Villa players for the summer of 2025.
Anyone holding their breath for a Fabrizio Romano 'here we go' post is likely to be completely disappointed.
