The summer continues without the sight of a 'big-name' signing in sight for Aston Villa. Many among the supporters are eager to see the club give anything to appease this desire. There are many clubs throughout the Premier League, meanwhile, that continue to load up on talent as if neither PSR nor SCR were even an actual aspect that needs to be considered.
As shared on X by Fabrizio Romano, the winger is prepared to make a move to Chelsea. The soon-to-be Manchester United player was seen as a potential option for Villa to pick up. Due to the nature of how the current summer has not involved any bigger name signings, this would have been viewed as a massive win for the club.
While the Argentina international has talent, and the fact that former players from that club have done well in B6 as of late, it would have had a chance to work out.
In reality, there is not necessarily a need for Villa to add someone of Garnacho's profile. As is, there will still be plenty of discussion each match regarding who does end up seeing the pitch at the wide positions. Granted, there can always be a use for players with high potential. Bringing on Garnacho would be a nice addition to have, but he was never a true necessity for Villa.
Contrasting Aston Villa approach
Chelsea have now instead signed their 40th player of the summer. It remains to be seen how Enzo Maresca will keep everyone happy and ensure that his side performs at the needed level. He will have an interesting task at hand juggling all of these new pieces to the team.
For Villa, it continues to be business as usual. Sticking with the current formula and not making any move out of a place of being irrational is still the best path forward. Not being able to secure a deal for Garnacho is more than fine.
