Aston Villa have until September 1 to potentially find a way to bring on more roster additions. According to Birmingham Live's John Townley, Unai Emery remains adamant about wanting to supplement the squad with more pieces.

The Villa boss mentioned the desire to add roughly two more players per position before the window closes. Considering some of the latest departures, Villa should be in a good position to be able to bring someone on without needing to be fearful of SCR or PSR aspects that have been part of the regular discourse surrounding the club for a while now.

Presumably Emery and Monchi must have overlooked players in mind when considering where the club is at right now in the summer. As is, a lot of moves have already been made throughout Europe, and the more obvious names have already found a new home.

Potential better options ahead for Aston Villa

Even so, it appears that Emery is still ambitious and hopeful over the prospect of being able to add a couple more players for the current campaign. It is a smaller squad than what would be normal. If, on the one hand, something is not able to come to fruition, then Villa have shown a great willingness to bring players in during the January transfer window.

By that time, there would certainly be more options available for Villa compared to this moment, as certain situations between various players and their clubs around Europe will look different a few months from now. That nature of such relationships around then will open up the avenue for Villa to potentially bring someone else, either outright or on loan, who would not otherwise be available at the moment.

In any event, Emery seems optimistic that the club will be able to add a Villan or two more before the window closes.
