Aston Villa announced on Friday the sale of forward Danny Ings to Premier League rival West Ham United.

Fabrizio Romano reported on Thursday that the clubs agreed on a transfer fee worth £15 million and that personal terms were already agreed.

Ings spent 16 months at Villa having signed for the club in August of 2021. He scored 13 goals in 48 league appearances and led the team in league goals this season (6) before he was sold.

West Ham have hovered in and around the relegation zone for most of this season and rank in the bottom-five in the league in goals scored this season.

Ings’ sale comes days after Villa announced the signing of forward Jhon Durán from Chicago Fire FC. The club also have reported interest in French striker Moussa Dembélé of Ligue 1’s Lyon.
