Among all of the concerns over Aston Villa and the troubles that they are facing in terms of financials, an important aspect is being overlooked. The club spent a lot of money on the wages of Marco Asensio, Marcus Rashford, and Axel Disasi. It made sense at the time. This is far from criticizing Monchi and Unai Emery for bringing in those players.
That component appears to have been completely overlooked when assessing the state of Villa's financial troubles, however. The club has to actively lower the wage bill. Considering the amount that those three pay was on the books for during the evaluation that ultimately led to a UEFA fine, it has to be something that deserves to be taken into consideration.
The end of their loan spell at Villa alone will help tremendously in the effort to show significant wage decreases. At the time the money was spent, and the club made a push. Now, with each of the players expected to sign elsewhere for the upcoming season, that money will be off the books.
In effect, Villa will be saving millions that can either be then allocated elsewhere or simply saved to cut the current deficit that is being closely monitored by UEFA at the moment.
Overall outlook for Aston Villa and squad possibility
What this should once again show is how incredibly wrong the rumors and reports were of the state of Villa's financial situation. Yes, the wage bill crept up too much. When looking at this aspect alone, however, it is a completely manageable and tenable situation for Villa that they have under control.
Being even more ambitious, this realistically leaves the door open for the eventual signing of either Rashford, Asensio, or Disasi on a permanent basis, especially if either of their current clubs end up being willing to part ways with either option for a lesser rate.
