Tottenham Hotspur join race for Aston Villa transfer target

Tottenham Hotspur are ready to rival Aston Villa, Chelsea and Arsenal in the race for Athletic Bilbao attacker Nico Williams this summer, as per a report by The Mirror.
The 21-year-old, who is a Spain international with 11 caps under his belt so far in his career, is a wanted man in the Premier League heading into the next transfer window.
He has recently penned a new deal with Athletic Bilbao but they will still face a battle to keep hold of him in the near future.
Aston Villa are no strangers to being linked with him and he would be an ideal acquisition for them as someone to compete with Ollie Watkins at the top end of the pitch. However, there appears to be stiff competition from his signature from some league rivals.
Unai Emery's side would probably need to be in the Champions League next season to significantly boost their chances of getting ahead of the likes of Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal. They are currently sat in 4th position as they prepare to lock horns with Ange Postecoglou's men up next.
Williams has been on the books at Bilbao since 2013 and has risen up through the ranks of the La Liga club. He broke into their first-team a few years ago and has since established himself as one of their most prized assets.
The prospect has made 112 appearances in all competitions for his current club to date and has scored 18 goals altogether, six of which have come this term.
