Grosvenor Sport's supercomputer, as written by The Mirror, has predicted next season's Premier League table. The supercomputer simulates each game 1,000 times over to predict results for each game. With those results, based on factors including team strength and betting markets and incorporating an element of randomness, a final table is generated. If you believe that these kind of things have any sort of accuracy to them then great, if not it may be an interesting thing to see anyway!

Manchester City will head into the new season looking to win their fifth consecutive title whilst Arsenal aim to finally get over the line and win it after back-to-back second place finishes. Liverpool, under new boss, Arne Slot, will be hoping that the departure of Jurgen Klopp won't result in a downturn in fortunes whilst Aston Villa will hope to remain in the European places whilst they take part in their Champions League adventure.

Manchester United and Chelsea will both be hoping that new signings and a fresh start can lead to them challenging for top four spots once again. Meanwhile, newly promoted sides Southampton, Ipswich and Leicester will be hoping that they can do enough to survive in the Premier League. It will be Ipswich's first appearance in the top flight since 2001/02.

Here is the Grosvenor Sport's supercomputer prediction for the 2024/25 season:

So, Villa are predicted to finish in the European places once more. Despite being predicted to finish two places below their fourth place finish of last season, they would only be doing so with three points fewer than they achieved in 2023/24. This would suggest that the supercomputer believes that other teams around them like Manchester United and Chelsea are going to significantly improve on last season's efforts. A sixth place finish to qualify for the Europa League or Conference League and a good run in the Champions League would probably please the majority of the Villa fan base, I would suggest.

Some surprise predictions include Newcastle finishing 9th. With the recent news that Newcastle's co-owners Amanda Staveley and Mehrdad Ghodoussi have left the club the future of the club is currently up in the air. It could see the free-flow of spending through Saudi investment could come to an end and manager Eddie Howe could well be in line for the vacant England manager position. Therefore we could see Newcastle struggle to keep up with the likes of Villa, Chelsea and Spurs who are pushing for Europe once more.

Another surprise in my eyes sees Brighton finishing in 15th. Brighton finished 6th in 2022/23 and 11th last season after a poor second half of the season and now it is predicted that they will continue to fall under new manager Fabian Hurzeler. The 31-year-old has replaced Robert De Zerbi to become the Premier League's youngest manager in its 32-year history and many believe that it will result in a poor season for the Seagulls.

Manchester City are predicted to continue their English dominance by winning the title comfortably whilst Arsenal again are predicted to finish 2nd. Manchester United are predicted to perform much better next season and qualify for the Champions League whilst new boys Ipswich Town are likely to fall way short, according to the supercomputer. Wolves are also predicted to struggle and face the drop alongside Nottingham Forest who survived by the skin of their teeth last time out.

As the summer progresses and the transfers continue to hit the headlines there will be many that will change their predictions and here at ClaretVillans we will provide our predictions nearer the start of the season.
