"He's capable" - Roy Keane tips Aston Villa ace for big future transfer
By Harry Mail
Pundit Roy Keane believes Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins is capable of playing for the likes of Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool.
The England international, who has played nine times for the Three Lions so far in his career, has scored 21 goals in all competitions this season, 16 of which have come in the league.
He is under contract at Villa Park until the summer of 2028 meaning Unai Emery's side are under no pressure to cash in on him anytime soon unless an offer that they can't refuse comes in for his services.
Keane, who has been assistant manager of Aston Villa in the past, thinks that the attacker is capable of playing for one of the 'top' teams in England at some point.
He has said on Sky Sports: “He could play for one of the top teams, couldn’t he?
"Villa are a top team but you’re talking about bigger clubs in Manchester United, Liverpool, Manchester City. That’s a compliment to him, not that he has to leave Villa. But he’s capable of doing it."
Watkins has been on the books at Aston Villa since they landed him from Brentford in 2020. He has since fired 64 goals in 155 outings for the Midlands outfit and has established himself as one of their most prized assets along the way.
He rose up through the academy ranks at Exeter City and broke into their first-team as a youngster.
The forward then spent three years with the Bees before his move to his current club.
