Aston Villa trying to sign Middlesbrough winger but have been rebuffed so far

Aston Villa are keen on signing Middlesbrough winger Morgan Rogers and have had two bids rejected for him already, as per a report by The Guardian.
Unai Emery is eager to bolster his attacking department and is said to have identified the Championship man as an ideal January addition.
Rogers, 21, only joined Boro last summer but has made a positive impression since making the switch to the Riverside Stadium, scoring six goals in all competitions during the first-half of this season.
He played for West Brom as a youngster before linking up with Manchester City in 2019. He never made a senior appearance during his time at the Etihad Stadium but did gain experience out on loan at Lincoln City, AFC Bournemouth and Blackpool.
Pep Guardiola gave him the green light to head out the exit door on a permanent basis when Boro came calling but the player may well end up back in the Premier League sooner than many thought.
Aston Villa will need to cough up more money if they are to lure him back to the Midlands though. This is a transfer saga that might go down to the wire this month with Rogers' future up in the air.
