Aston Villa have told Bertrand Traore that he is free to leave the club before the end of the January transfer window, as detailed in a report by the Daily Mail.
The winger, who is a Burkina Faso international with 76 caps under his belt so far in his career, has fallen down the pecking order at Villa Park over recent times.
Offloading him over the next couple of weeks would free up space and funds in the squad for Unai Emery to bring in some other reinforcements for the remainder of the season.
Aston Villa signed the attacker back in 2020 and he has since made 62 appearances in all competitions for the Midlands outfit, chipping in with 10 goals. He also had a loan spell in Turkey at Istanbul Başakşehir and scored three times in 18 matches for the Super Lig club.
Traore was on the books at Chelsea from 2013 to 2017 and had temporary spells from Stamford Bridge at Vitesse and Ajax in Holland to get some experience.
He then cut ties with the Blues and had a three-year stint in France at Lyon before moving back to England. However, his time with Aston Villa appears to be coming to an end.
