Aston Villa star hails 'character' after Fulham win
By Harry Mail
Aston Villa attacker Ollie Watkins believes they should great character to beat Fulham over the weekend.
Unai Emery's side ran out 2-1 winners against the Whites at Craven Cottage.
Watkins, 28, has now scored 18 goals in all competitions so far this season, 13 of which have come in the Premier League.
He said after their win against the Cottagers, as per the club's official website: “It’s a massive win.
“We bounced back after another home defeat against Manchester United, showed great character.
“It’s not an easy place to come, we created a lot of chances, I definitely think it could have been more than two goals.
“It’s a massive three points because Fulham put us under a lot of pressure.”
The former Exeter City and Brentford man added: "We were unfortunate (against United).
“The keeper made a lot of good saves, we missed some big opportunities but we don’t dwell on it, we go again.
“There’s always another game around the corner and that’s what you need to do, have a great response like we did.
“And take our chances when they come.”
Aston Villa are now 4th in the table and are eight points off 1st place Arsenal. They are two points above Tottenham Hotspur in 5th.
Next up for Emery's men is a home clash against Nottingham Forest as they look to keep their momentum going. They then face an away trip to Luton Town to kick-start March as the fixtures start to come thick and fast.
