Aston Villa have turned down a bid from West Ham for striker Jhon Duran, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

The Hammers are reportedly keen on landing the attacker on a loan-to-buy deal. However, their attempts to lure the player down to London have been rebuffed by Unai Emery.

Duran, 20, moved to England 12 months ago and has since made 35 appearances in all competitions, chipping in with four goals.

He provides useful competition for Aston Villa up front to Ollie Watkins and although he hasn't been prolific since moving to Villa Park, he could still have a bright future ahead of him at the club and you can see why they are reluctant to let him link up with a Premier League rival.

Prior to his switch to the Midlands, the Colombia international, who has six caps under his belt so far for his country, played in America for Chicago Fire and found the net on eight occasions for them during the 2022 MLS campaign.

West Ham need a new forward for the remainder of the campaign but may have to look elsewhere as they look to bolster their ranks under the guidance of David Moyes.
