It ended up being a pretty busy end of the transfer window for Aston Villa as they added the finishing touches to their squad.
Prior to deadline day, it had been a quiet month for Unai Emery's side. Right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic was their only addition from Red Star Belgrade before he was sent back to Serbia on loan.
Aston Villa's pursuit of Morgan Rogers has been well documented and they were finally able to get a deal over the line for the attacker before the 11pm deadline on Thursday.
The 21-year-old, who has been at West Brom and Manchester City in the past, joined Middlesbrough last summer and has scored seven goals for Michael Carrick's side during the first-half of the season.
Goalkeeper Joe Gauci also arrived at Villa Park from Adelaide United. The Midlands outfit have decided to take a gamble on the Australia international, despite his lack of experience in Europe.
The 23-year-old will provide competition and depth to Aston Villa's goalkeeping department and will look to compete with Emi Martinez for the number one spot over the next few years.
Finally, Emery also decided to move for left-back Lino Sousa from fellow top flight club Arsenal in a move that not many saw coming. The 19-year-old is one for the future and has been shipped out on loan to Plymouth Argyle in the Championship to get some more experience under his belt.
Aston Villa are in action this weekend away at Sheffield United as they look to bounce back from their loss to Newcastle United.
