Aston Villa are interested in a move for Flamengo striker Pedro this summer, according to a report by Italian news outlet CalcioMercato.
Unai Emery's side are being linked with a swoop for the forward at the end of this season along with fellow Premier League sides West Ham, Fulham and Chelsea.
Pedro, 26, has played for his current club since 2020 and has been prolific over the past three-and-half years.
He joined Flamengo on an initial loan deal before his switch there was made permanent. The Brazil international, who has six caps under his belt for his country so far in his career, has scored 113 goals in 228 games to date.
The Rio-born man has played in Europe before for Fiorentina. However, his time in Italy didn't really go to plan.
He moved to Serie A in 2019 from Fluminense but didn't score in four outings before being shipped back out to Brazil on loan.
Another attacking option
Nevertheless, Aston Villa could see him as someone to bolster their attacking department ahead of the next campaign. They could do with some more depth up top to compete with Ollie Watkins and take some of the load off the former Exeter City and Brentford man, especially if they are in Europe again next term.
Pedro is a proven goal scorer for Flamengo and may have learnt a lot from his unsuccessful stint at Fiorentina a few years ago. There will be competition for his signature though with a few other teams mentioned.
